Nike We Run KL 2012: D-Day!!

And so this interesting day finally arrived. On 13th October, approximately 15k runners flocked the streets of KL particularly the stretch along Jalan Ampang till Dataran Merdeka. 4 lucky representatives from EFR took part in the event. They are Sara (EFR 17), Ezani (EFR 5), Fithri (EFR 23) and Afiq (EFR 22). The day of the 13th started off drizzly and turned heavy throughout the day. Fortunately, the rain stopped just few hours before the race started. However, as expected, most of the running paths were wet and runners were even greeted with muddy ending.

General consensus from the public responses on this year's event, 2012 KL edition can be considered as the worst so far. However, there are some plus-es too. This year's shirts are arguably nicer and cooler! All runners would receive racer tee and finisher tee. No finisher medals though.

According to Sara, the bag collection system was a mess! Imagine, one had to wait for few hours just to collect his/her bag because the organiser called the bag owner according to the number ONE by ONE! To sum it up, Ezani, Fithri, Sara and Afiq enjoyed the run but felt that the organiser could do a lot better to turn the event more satisfying for all. To Nike We Run KL, hope you learn from this year's shortcomings and to improve next year! These are snapshots of the event:

Sweet Sara (EFR 17) and her sweet friend getting ready for the run!!

Most people complained that they ran further than 10km and here's the proof! (source: Sara's Nike+ data)

The racer tee and finisher tee! Very cool looking indeed

Andy (EFR 4) captured this at Masjid Jamek Putra Station while he was returning home from part-time class

Don't Run, Walk...ooops is this KL City Walk @ Jalan P Ramlee...

The frustrated face of EFR 5, he is the one who has a lot, a lot, a loooottttt of dissapointment moment in this year's Nike Run...
