Viper Challenge 2013

Viper Challenge 2013 held last weekend on 17 and 18th August 2013. It was a 20km run with 20 obstacles along the way. We got EFR representative took part on this Asia Biggest Challenge. EFR 7, EFR 31 and EFR 35 joined as a team under Team Stallenator with their Chief Original Bootcamp gang. It was called Stallenator as they sometimes stalled during bootcamp session and to make it interesting, they changed the tabata protocol to 20 seconds active 60 seconds rest (the real one is only 10 seconds rest). EFR 35 was the captain of the team and she never left her teammates behind, she was walking with one of the teammate who got injured badly and they still managed to complete the run within 4 hours together with EFR 31. As for EFR 7 who run with other teammates completed the run in 3 hours and 20 mins. On the same day, EFR 3 also take part and completed the run within 3 hours and 15 minutes.
All of them compete on the first day itself where the event was poorly organized. There was no water station (only big giant black tank of Syabas pipe water where all the runners need to drink it from the pipe), medical help also was very poor as they don’t have any deep heat cream or spray and medical supplies are not enough. Despite all that, the route and the obstacles was awesome and all the runners seems to enjoy the run.

On the very next day, EFR 25 took part and she said the organizer did lots of improvement after so called “guinea pigs” runners (on the first day) already complained about the event. They got plenty of proper water station, they provide mineral water, 100plus, bananas and ice cream where none was provided in the first day itself. EFR 25 also managed to complete within 4 hours with her teammates. We hope next year they will provided a better organize event and makes all the runners happy as we pay a lot for this event. Some maybe paid for RM99 for early bird, but some of us paid RM173, so we do expect better organizer for the run with that sum of money.

Overall, all the EFRs completed the awesome run and definitely will join this event again next year.

ENERGIZER Night Race 2012: Event Day

Well well well...long time busy with EYKL auditors' schedule, due to numerous dateline for 31 December + 31 March year end companies, almost all of our runners ran this race without sufficient training.

Never mind, we start with the event day story.

EFR 5 need to cancel his participation in this race in the final minute due to the demise of his uncle.
Al-Fatihah.

EFR 15 went there separately, alone, direct from Shah Alam through Elite and be the earliest to reach F1 Sepang International Circuit.

What happened to the other EFRs???

Decided to eat first before the journey, EFR 1, 3 & 4 leave EYKL office at Damansara at 6.45pm!!! Using MEX, they avoided jam. Good job, bros! But....reaching Sepang at around 7.40pm, they stuck with the blocked way-in. They have to U-turn to the other entrance. However, without proper instruction by the organizer and the volunteers who just sit together (around 9-10 people) doing nothing to show the way, these 3 15.5km runners has lost their way again.

Then, after U-turn back to the same road (just now they missed), they juz go straight until they found a bunch of guys, and they asked where's the parking lot. One of the guys (Guy A) told that they shud go further to park, but to make it short, they finally have to turn back, and actually the right direction is to the lorong where Guy A is standing. What the ...!

Okay la. Finally they've made into the Welcome Gate. Take the headlamp, and ran to the starting area. Near the podium tunnel, EFR 4 realised that the headlamp can't be switched on. After EFR 1 & 3 also found out that their headlamp encountered the same problem, they rushed to the volunteers stand near and asked. The volunteers told to go back to the Welcome Gate and fix it there. Wallaweh.

Okay, they went back there je lah. They ran u know!! At the Welcome Gate, the volunteers there said that they actually didn't peel off the plastic which covered the battery power source. Is that all??? Shit! They admit that maybe they have not read the instruction properly lah, but at least y not all the volunteers were given the proper instruction to at least help runners not to waste their energy??? It's at night mah, rushing some more, where can see that plastic one...Waduh...

Wokeh, wokeh, wokeh...they went down the tunnel only to know that the 15.5km category has been flagged off 12 minutes ago. The take the chance (alang-alang lambat) to snapped some pictures before started their run. Here're some of the snapshots on the day:-

Finisher's Tee

Anyway, Energizer Night Race can be considered as MEGA & INTERESTING race! Upon finishing the race, we were given a so-called FINISHER's T without the word "finisher", finisher's medal, finisher's cert, a banana, a mineral water, a bun, some 'kuih' and 100plus. This event can be described as memorable as well.
