Event: Energizer Singapore Night Trail 2013

Distance: 6KM Trail + 3KM Obstacles
Here we go again, as EFR7 and EFR25 love to
run in Singapore, they signed up for Energizer Night trail run which was held
on the 11th of May 2013. These 2 girls are crazy, because they have
registered for 3KM obstacle run at 3pm and 6KM trail run at 8pm. Their
craziness doesn’t stop there as on the next day, the run another 7km deuter
trail run in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Other than them, we wont forget EFR 14 who has recently been really active in blazing the trails.

Other than Adee, this was that 2 crazy girls' first trail run and they
love it. Both of them love hiking, so trail run was like climbing the mountain
but instead of walking they have to run. The obstacle was fun they said. They
need to finish the obstacle race within 30 minutes. For EFR 7 who run with her bootcamp’s
friends, she did quite well, finished the 3km obstacle race in 23 minutes and
get top 100, thanks to Chief Original Bootcamp training.

They only joined 6km for the trail run (other
categories was 12km and 18km) at night as they need to save energy for another
7km deuter trail run in the next morning. It is a really off-road run in the
forest of Mandai, Singapore. Its easily to get injured if you land your feet
wrongly and your ankle easily get twisted. It was very dark, and everyone is
given a head-torchlight to ease their run and give them better visibility while
running. EFR 7 managed to finished top 100 again, rank at 75 out of 705 people
within 55 minutes and EFR25 finished the 6km trail run within 1hr and 19
minutes.

After the race, they are given unlimited
cold milo and also ice cream from walls (can choose from paddle pop rainbow,
split, vanilla cornetto). They also was given a mosquito repellent before the
run and sunblock before the obstacle run in the afternoon. Singapore once again
did organized a good run for the participants. There was a carnival where you
can play free games and earn prizes and also mini treasure hunts for runners or
non-runners to join during their free time.

Event: Deuter Trail Fun Run 2013
Date: 12 May 2013
Venue: Challenge Park, Putrajaya
EFRs: Fadhlul (EFR 3), Shuhid (EFR 7), Nazeem (EFR 16), Hana (EFR 25)
Distance: +-7KM Trail
Well, after the night trail race, they
heading back home at their cousin’s place in Bukit Batok, Singapore and have a
5 hours sleep before heading back to Malaysia at 4.30am in the morning. With 3
hours and 20 minutes journey from Singapore to Putrajaya inclusive of few stop
along the way to pump up Petrol and to perform Subuh prayer (they cant avoid
speeding as they need to be at the race venue before 8am), they managed to
reach Putrajaya 10 minutes before the Deuter trail run start. Both EFR7 and
EFR25 managed to complete the run and breaking their record to run 16KM trail
in total within 18 hours in 2 countries (Singapore and Malaysia). EFR7 and
EFR25 somehow prefer the trail route in Putrajaya, Malaysia more as compared to
the night trail in Mandai, Singapore. Thumbs up to both of the girls, EFR team
proud of you two.
