Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2012: Week to go


This post is to remind all the registered runners regarding the above event. Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon 2012 will kick start on 24 June 2012. Please be reminded that the race day programme is as per below:

Shuttle bus service is available on the race day for your convenient. The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police and the organisers of the Standard Chartered KL Marathon highly recommend that the public use alternative routes or the public transportation system.

One important thing is about the Race Pack Collection. Please be reminded that you can start to collect to your race pack on 20 June 2012 (Wednesday) until 23 June 2012 (Saturday). Failure to do so will allow the organisers to stop from take part in the race, the registration fee is not refundable, and the race pack is not collectable in future. For those who want to retrieve their race confirmation, you can do so by log on to http://www.kl-marathon.com, go to Participant Status Check at Registration bar. You need to put in your I.C. number and email address.

Full Marathon 42.195km (Time limit - 6 hours)
Race pack: Bag, Bibs, Runner Guide Book, Running Singlet, Timing Device, Small Towel
Upon completion: Finisher T-shirt, Finisher Medal, Finisher Certificate
Description: This run has a total ascent of 179.0 m and has a maximum elevation of 105.0 m.

Honda Half Marathon 21.0975km (Time limit - 3 hours)
Race pack: Bag, Bibs, Runner Guide Book, Running Singlet, Timing Device
Upon completion: Finisher Medal, Finisher Certificate
Description: This run has a total ascent of 90.0 m and has a maximum elevation of 92.0m.

10km (Time limit - 1 hour 30 mins)
Race pack: Bag, Bibs, Runner Guide Book, Running Singlet, Timing Device
Upon completion: Finisher Medal, Finisher Certificate
Description: This run has a total ascent of 56.0 m and has a maximum elevation of 77.0 m.

Race pack collection venue opens from 12pm - 8pm (20-22 June) and from 11am - 6pm (23 June). EFR 14 & EFR 22 are understood to have their race pack via mail. Nice job, bro!

    EFRs registered. 2 EFRs registered for Full Marathon (42KM), 4 EFRs for Honda Half Marathon (21KM), 10 EFRs for 10KM, and 7 EFRs are not joining due to various reasons.

Please be reminded that 100 Plus is one of the sponsor of the event, therefore there is possibility that drink stations will provide this isotonic drink. If you're not get use to this drink, make sure you have your own hydration 'gear' with you. Timing device is provided to all runners (only to respective categories joined by EFRs), therefore you are all able to track your own accurate run time.
